Wacky Wednesday

We had a great time at our last Wacky Wednesday of the summer. We had Christmas in August. Below are pictures of our human Christmas trees.

Tomorrow is going to be a great Sunday. For our kids it will be the last day that they have in their current Sunday School class before Promotion Sunday next week.

Summer Dayz – Discovery Center

Here are some pictures of our Summer Dayz trip to the Discovery Center. The 1st-3rd graders had a great time at the park and playing with all the cool things in the Discovery Center.

Girls Summer Dayz

Yesterday we had our girls summer dayz. We had over 40 girls in the FLC decorating cakes. I have to say they all turned out looking pretty good. Pastor Howie even stopped by to do a decorating with us. Below is a picture of this great event.

Our next event. Is the 1st-3rd grade Summer Dayz next Tuesday at the Discovery Center. Make sure to reserve a spot by calling the office or catching me on Sunday.

Kenya

We we just finished our first day of VBS here in Kenya. In case you have not been reading our trip blog you should know that things so far have been smooth but crazy all at the same time. It started with us checking 27 bags in Amarillo when we left town. After a short flight to Dallas and two longer ones we arrived in Nairobi to find out that not a single bag had made the trip. So that not only meant we had no personal items, but we also did not have any medicine for the doctors to use or VBS items. Finally after many phone calls and trips to the airport we finally picked up our bags at 7:30 this morning.

The other interesting thing so far is that in preparation for VBS we were told to plan for 32 kids. Being the children’s minister that I am and never wanting to run short on items we packed for 45 kids. This is all well and good except we ended up having nearly 300 kids today. Instead of just working with the kids in the orphanage we are doing VBS for the whole school.

These two things plus a few others have made everything on this trip really funny. No matter how much preparation time we spent God has His own agenda so we might as well get on board. We are having such a great time and I look forward to seeing all that God is going to do. Have a good one!

Keep this blog on file because this will be the blog we use all of the time. I will keep it updated with everything going on in our Children’s Ministry.

One other note,
